The Rev. Rolf Amundson Leed, of Kansas City, Missouri, died on June 19, 2024, aged 82. He was born on July 24, 1941 to Bjarne Leed and Alice Leed (Amundson) in Honolulu, Hawaii, just months before the attack on Pearl Harbor.

He was raised in San Diego, California. After attending Brigham Young University for his undergraduate studies, he attended Seabury Western Theological Seminary. He was ordained in 1969 as a priest of the Diocese of Los Angeles, California. During his 37 years of serving God, he guided parishes in Mountain Home, Idaho; McCall, Idaho; Kellogg, Idaho; Pratt, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri. The final church served by Father Leed was St. Paul’s Church in Clinton, Missouri where he was integral in the building of the church at its current location. Father Leed retired from the Dioceses of West Missouri in 2006. Rolf also dedicated his life as a substance abuse counselor and chaplain while serving in multiple locations in Kansas City, Missouri, and finished his career at Pathways Behavioral Healthcare in Clinton, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bjarne and Alice Leed. Leed’s passions included music of all genres. He was an avid classical and opera lover and attended Kansas City Lyric Operas on a regular basis. He could frequently be heard singing to himself and anyone else who would listen. His voice will always be remembered in our hearts.

A memorial service will be held August 12, 2024 at 2pm at St. Paul’s Church, 1837 E. Highway 7, Clinton, MO 64735. In lieu of flowers, Father Leed’s family suggests memorial contributions can be made to All Saint’s Episcopal Church, Pratt, Kansas.
