This online course will examine the history of the Anglo-Catholic movement through primary and secondary sources and will take an in-depth look at the theology which undergirds it. Topics will include nature and grace, incarnation, ecclesiology, sacraments, and mission.
The course will be structured primarily in a seminar-style, with discussion and exploration of readings. Students will undertake a research paper on a topic of their choosing. The class will include at least three synchronous sessions, of which at least one will be required (and arranged in conversation with students). This is an advanced elective in theology, and students should have at least a first course in theology and church history before beginning this course.
