The Rev. Dr. Mark C. Lee
President and Associate Professor of Practical Theology and Chaplaincy Studies
The Rev. Dr. Mark C. Lee, BS, MBA, MDiv, DMin, PhD, BCC, ACPE/NF became President of Bexley Seabury Seminary in 2025, bringing over two decades of experience in theological education, pastoral care, and organizational leadership. An Episcopal priest and U.S. Army Chaplain holding the rank of Colonel, Dr. Lee most recently served as Dean of the Graduate School at the U.S. Army Institute for Religious Leadership, leading four academic schools, three Clinical Pastoral Education centers, and faculty across six locations nationwide.
He holds a PhD from the University of Aberdeen, a Doctor of Ministry from Erskine Theological Seminary, an MDiv from Princeton Theological Seminary, and an MBA and BS from the University of Southern California. A Board-Certified Chaplain and Certified Educator with the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, his scholarship explores moral injury, trauma-informed ministry, and post-traumatic growth.
Known for his pastoral presence and strategic vision, Dr. Lee is guided by the belief that theological education forms disciples who love God, serve neighbor, and lead communities beyond walls. He likes to travel, look for good food, workout (although CrossFit is no longer a viable option), and get in a few hours of binge-watching K-Drama on weekends.
