Preparing Leaders for a Church Yet to Come
Watching. Preparing. Hoping. These commitments are at the heart of Bexley Seabury Seminary's Keeping Watch campaign. We are watching the changing needs of the Church and the communities it serves, preparing leaders to respond with wisdom and imagination, and looking with hope toward the possibilities ahead.
As the Seminary Beyond Walls, Bexley Seabury provides accessible theological education rooted in the Anglican tradition to a nationwide community of lay and ordained leaders.
Our students are parish priests in small towns, hospital chaplains, deacons discerning a call in midlife, and lay leaders serving through food pantries, youth ministries, and other community programs.
Many balance theological study with work, family, and ministry. For some, relocating or stepping away from those responsibilities simply isn't an option.
Your partnership makes this kind of formation possible. Tuition alone does not cover the full cost of theological education. Annual gifts help provide scholarship support, sustain excellent faculty, and maintain the technology that connects our community across the country.
Together, we are preparing thoughtful, adaptable, and faithful leaders to serve the Church and its communities—wherever they are called and whatever the future holds.
“If we train leaders only for what the Church has been or what we understand it to be today, we risk preparing them for a world that has already changed. Instead, we must form people who listen deeply to God, to Scripture and tradition, and to the communities before them. The Church needs leaders who can think theologically when no ready answer exists, collaborate across differences, and remain grounded in their vocation when circumstances change.”
— The Very Rev. Dr. Mark C. Lee, President and Dean, Bexley Seabury Seminary
Your Impact
Your generosity helps form leaders serving congregations, ministries, and communities across the Church.
Through scholarships, faculty mentorship, and innovative programs, students pursue theological education while continuing their work in dioceses, congregations, chaplaincies, and community ministries.
Together, alumni and friends of Bexley Seabury expand access to theological education and strengthen leadership for a changing Church.
Every gift — no matter the size — is a partnership in the future of our shared work.
“The people who are attracted to a place like Bexley Seabury are creative and imaginative, and are actively engaged in thinking about what the church will look like in the future.”
— The Rev. Cody Maynus ’19, Diocese of Minnesota
