IN MEMORIAM: Thomas Pantle ’66
The Rev. Canon Thomas Pantle, Seabury Western Class of 1966, born to Marion and Alvin Pantle on July 21, 1939, in Multnomah County, Oregon, was the beloved only child of his family. With no surviving relatives, he leaves behind a lasting legacy of devotion to the church and service to the community. Baptized into the faith at St. Michael's All Angels, Portland, in 1943, he earned his Bachelor of Science from Portland State before his degree in Theology from Seabury Western. Ordained a priest in 1967 by the Diocese of Tennessee, he served selflessly for 52 years, ministering to multiple parishes in Tennessee, Oregon, and Texas. In 2013 he was honored by the Diocese of Dallas as Honorary Canon, appointed to the order of Bishop Garrett. After serving 16 years at St. Dunstan Church in Mineola, Texas, Rev. Canon Thomas retired in 2018. The Reverend Thomas Alvin Pantle leaves a legacy as one of true friendships and compassion, and he will be sorely missed. Celebration of Life for Canon Thomas Alvin Pantle will be held April 26, At 2:00pm at the Church of St. Dunstan in Mineola, Texas 600 North Johnson St. He will be placed to rest alongside his mother and father at the Rose City Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
