Assistant/Associate Rector
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania
Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh
The Assistant/Associate Rector will be the third clergy person working collaboratively with the Rector and Associate Rector, serving a lively, progressive, and growing Episcopal congregation in a suburban community six miles from downtown Pittsburgh. Worship, Spiritual Formation, Outreach, and Pastoral Care are central to the life of our corporate-sized parish. The Assistant/Associate Rector will coordinate, nurture our established Pastoral Care ministries supporting and empowering a large group of committed lay leaders – including Stephen Ministry, Lay Eucharistic Visitors, and many other pastoral care ministries, as well as participate in new initiatives. The Assistant/Associate Rector will also serve as the staff coordinator for the parish’s large Outreach programs, which serve over 7000 meals a year to those in need and collaborate with many community groups and organizations, broadening the parish's impact across the region. The Assistant/Associate Rector will share in priestly ministries, including preaching, administration of the Sacraments, teaching and training, and empowering lay ministry, and pastoral visiting.
St. Paul’s is searching for a transitional deacon, newly ordained priest, or experienced priest who has a heart for Pastoral Care and Outreach, who is a strong preacher, and has a collaborative leadership style.
This is a full-time position with benefits; salary is commensurate with experience and in keeping with our diocesan guidelines.
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is a vibrant congregation and is the largest congregation in the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh. St. Paul’s has over 1800 members, 170 children enrolled in Children and Youth programs, and is affiliated with the active St. Paul’s Episcopal Nursery School.
We worship on Saturdays at 6PM and Sundays at 8AM, 8:45AM & 10:45AM. Each service has a unique liturgical style and music.
